We share the article written by Paolo Pinto for ruvesi.it about our participation in Vinitaly 2024.

Second participation at Vinitaly for Lamonarca Winery

Lamonarca Winery has been part of the wine world for over 50 years, located in the charming town of Ruvo di Puglia — mentioned by the Latin poet Quintus Horatius Flaccus in the memoir of his journey from Rome to Brindisi.

It was in 1972 that the founder’s eldest son, Francesco Lamonarca, driven by a transformative spirit toward the fruits of the land and later supported by his two brothers, established the winery.

The story continues with the new generation taking over, carrying forward the family’s work while remaining faithful to Apulian winemaking traditions — never neglecting innovation.

With the achievement of three Gold Medals:

  • Vinalies Internationales 2024 for “Velo di Sposa”, a natural orange wine obtained from elegant native grape varieties — Moscato, Malvasia, and Bombino Bianco — subjected to a long maceration; after fermentation, the wine is drawn off and aged in terracotta amphorae.

  • Mundus Vini for “Cinquefoglie” Nero di Troia Rosso Castel del Monte DOC, an austere wine with aromas of fragrant dark fruits and intense spices, whose excellent structure of noble tannins conquers from the first sip.

  • Mundus Vini for “Cinquefoglie” Negroamaro Rosso IGT Puglia, a symphony of black fruits and spices, with enveloping persistence and an intense character revealed from the very first taste.

The Lamonarca family presents at Vinitaly the “Cinquefoglie” bottled line, created to further enhance the company’s identity through eight excellent Apulian wines: Negroamaro Rosso IGP Puglia, Primitivo Rosso IGP Puglia, Nero di Troia DOC Castel del Monte, Minutolo IGP Valle d’Itria, Bombino Bianco DOC Castel del Monte, Verdeca IGP Valle d’Itria, Bombino Nero DOCG Castel del Monte, and Negroamaro Rosato IGP Puglia, along with “Velo di Sposa”, a natural orange wine.

All bottled wines are intended for the Ho.Re.Ca. sector.
